Setting Up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) with DUO
What is DUO?
DUO is a cloud service from CISCO that offers multi-factor authentication (MFA). MFA is a crucial security measure that protects users by requiring multiple forms of verification. When you log in with your username and password, you also need to confirm your identity through another method, such as a push notification in the DUO app, an SMS, or a phone call.


Setting Up DUO for a Hosting User

On "My Pages," you can manage your company's users.
Note that management is always under the ID number associated with the dk license.


Activating Management

To manage users, you need to enable MFA by clicking "Send Code."
A code will be sent to your email, which you then enter in the field below and click "Confirm Code."




Managing Users

Once activated, you can manage your company's users.
Under the "Information" tab, you can change the user's name and activate their email and phone number.
These details are necessary to enable MFA for the user.






















Enabling Multi-Factor Authentication

After entering the user's phone number, click "MFA" and then "Enable" to start the MFA activation process.

Name the user's device and click "Create."


Next, click "Activate."


 The user will have three options to activate DUO on their phone: via SMS, email, or QR code.



All three methods will open the DUO app (or the PlayStore/AppStore if the DUO app is not already installed) and automatically activate the link for the user.

Once DUO is activated, it will appear on the user's device. Users must allow DUO to send notifications so they receive prompts on their phone when authenticating into the hosting service: "Allow DUO to send notifications?"



From now on, when logging in, users will need to enter their username and password and also confirm their identity by clicking "Allow" in the DUO app on their phone. A notification will appear on the phone once the correct username and password are entered.
